Shipping Policy

Freight allowed is restricted to a single location within the contiguous United States. (Excluding shipments to Hawaii, Alaska, or any US Territory) Prepaid shipment cost limited to the carrier’s tariff rates for transportation only, any extra charges such as lift gate, delivery notifications etc. will be prepaid and invoiced to the distributor.  When product is shipped freight prepaid, title and risk of loss or damage to products shall pass to Buyer at the time the products are delivered to the Buyer warehouse (FOB Buyer warehouse).

When product is shipped prepaid and add or freight collect, title and risk of loss or damage to products shall pass when the product leaves the shipping point (FOB Laclede’s warehouse). All shipments must be inspected within 48 hours of receipt.  The buyer must notify Laclede within 48 hours of any shortages, mis-shipments, or damaged product.  The distributor must also note on the Bill of Lading any damage to the shipment (Damaged and Subject to count).  Failure to note the Bill of Lading may prevent the effective filing of a claim against the trucking company and subsequent reimbursement to the buyer. The buyer will have accepted the product if all necessary documentation is in accordance with the original purchase order. Any product not ordered or not otherwise in accordance with the purchase order can be returned to Laclede at Laclede’s expense.
