Laclede Chain Manufacturing Deepens Trailer Safety Expertise and Service Capabilities
FENTON, MO.—Laclede Chain Manufacturing is honing its focus on providing service and expertise to the growing trailer industry in the Midwest through the hands-on, proactive approach and industry expertise of Midwest Sales Manager Eric Kazmierzak. In his role, Kazmierzak will focus on cultivating relationships with the distributors, end-users, and OEMs in the trailer industry that Laclede serves across Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and parts of Illinois.
Kazmierzak brings several years of experience in the trailer industry to his role at Laclede. He previously worked as a sales manager for an RV and cargo distribution house in Elkhart, Indiana, which is known as the “RV Capital of America.” His direct experience working one-on-one with trailer manufacturers has given Kazmierzak firsthand knowledge of the needs of Laclede’s customers in this burgeoning sector.
“The trailer industry has changed quite a bit in the last several years,” Kazmierzak said. “There is a lot more need for custom lengths and different styles of hooks. Trailer manufacturers are becoming more conscious of making their configurations versatile to fit a wide variety of vehicles.”
In his role at Laclede, Kazmierzak will be traveling across his region, spending time getting to know his customers in person to better understand their needs. Because of his trailer industry expertise, Kazmierzak was also recently chosen to join the safety committee of the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM). Through his involvement with the organization, Kazmierzak provides safety training to trailer manufacturers to help them grow their businesses and mitigate risk.
“It’s my role to provide our customers the safety knowledge they need to be successful,” Kazmierzak said.
Laclede’s safety testing capabilities also offer its trailer industry customers an important resource. “Not everyone has the ability to test products like us,” he said.
In addition, according to Kazmierzak, working with a family-owned business like Laclede also gives customers a distinct advantage. “We can turn custom jobs around much more quickly than many larger suppliers,” he said. “Because we’re family-owned, we can go right to the source and make the decisions that get things done.”
