How To ID Your Alpine Series Tire Chain
Need to figure out which stock # of Alpine Series chains you have? The process is easy:
1) When you have the chains laid out in front of you, locate the red draw chain.
2) On one end of the draw chain is a black rubber tightener, on the other end is a flat, golden, c-shaped link.
There will be a number stamped on that link. If there are two digits in the number the chain is from the 1500 series Alpine Premier.
To determine your stock number for these, simply put 15 in front of the two digits marked on the c-link. For example, if “40” were stamped on the link, the part number would be 1540.
If there are three digits in the number then it is from the Alpine Sport or Super Sport series.
The first digit is 3 for an Alpine Sport and the first digit is 5 for an Alpine Super Sport.
For example, if you see “327” you have a 2327, or if you see “532” you have a 2532.
Please check the following reference chart for easy identification. The numbers on the left are what is stamped on the link, and the numbers on the right are the Laclede stock numbers.
Alpine Premier (XX)
Alpine Sport (3XX)
Alpine Super Sport (5XX)
The stock # for this chain is 1540.
