Laclede Chain Brings Aboard New Director of Rigging & Marine

February 14, 2023

Laclede Chain Manufacturing has welcomed aboard a new Director of Rigging and Marine, Roland Ross, to bolster plans for growth in the new year. Roland will be driving efforts to make Laclede’s chain products, customer service, and strategic partnerships stronger than ever for the Rigging and Marine industries.

Roland has extensive background in domestic and international Rigging, with more than three decades of experience working for rigging shops and manufacturers around the world to build stronger supply chain partnerships. He brings with him a strong understanding of what it takes to be a reliable supplier in today’s supply chain and foster prosperous outcomes for customers.

More and more North American rigging shops and marine customers are turning to Laclede as a reliable source for high quality overhead lifting, marine, and general-purpose chains. All of Laclede’s chains are domestically manufactured, making turnaround time more reliable than offshore suppliers amidst ongoing supply chain challenges.

“Before the pandemic, rigging and marine chain supply was less of an issue; customers shopped based on price and chain quality. But today, there’s a primary need for product, period.” Ross said. “The relationships Laclede builds with customers allows us to operate with proactive reliability and ensure that our customers are taken care of as their needs and the market changes. This alone sets Laclede apart from competitors, and I’m proud to be part of the team that’s leading the way.”

“Like all suppliers, Laclede has struggled to deliver the product that our customers require. Adding Roland to the team is a clear sign to the industry that Laclede is rising above those challenges now and we’re positioning ourselves to make a big comeback in 2023. Ross has already proven to be a strong leader that values the customers’ viewpoint,” said Tim Riley, President/CEO. “And he’s playing a vital role in our growing efforts to keep America driving forward.”

Bringing Roland on board is Laclede’s first step in becoming a stronger link in the domestic supply chain and expanding customer base through the U.S. and Canada. Laclede’s primary goal going forward is to find the right, long-term partners in the chain industry to work with for years to come.
